V Flow – A Herbal Dietary Supplement for Vascular and Body Wellness
V Flow, a dietary supplement made from ginger, jujube, and black wood ear mushroom, is developed to support overall health and vascular care. The product is launched by JW Herbal Co., Ltd., which officially announced its release along with the success of its 3-year research and development project titled “Development of Extracts from Three Herbs—Jujube, Ginger, and Black Wood Ear Mushroom—for the Treatment of Cerebral Arterial Stenosis.”
This research was funded by the Industrial Research and Technology Capacity Development Program (IRTC) and carried out in collaboration with the Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University, along with a team of pharmacists and physicians from the university. The official launch event was held at the NSP Exhibition Hall in Northern Science Park, Chiang Mai, and was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including:
Mr. Rattapol Naradisorn, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province
Mr. Komsan Suwanampa, former Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai and now advisor to the We Love Chiang Mai Fund
Prominent figures such as Khun Phrommaporn Iamchitmetta, Khun Pimchin Phakphatthanachon, Miss Chonnikan Supittayaporn (Miss Chiang Mai 2021), and Khun Sirada Lo Bulyo (Miss Flower Festival Chiang Mai 2017)
From Local Wisdom to Scientific Innovation
Mr. Rattapol Naradisorn, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai, stated:
“It is an honor and a pleasure to preside over the launch of V Flow by JW Herbal—a Thai herbal health supplement developed right here in Chiang Mai. The research team also hails from Chiang Mai, with studies conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. This collaboration between the public and private sectors has yielded a product that not only showcases Thai wisdom but is also backed by scientific validation.”
He emphasized how today’s modern lifestyle increases the risk of vascular diseases, which are currently the second leading cause of death after cancer. He noted that utilizing Thai herbs such as ginger, jujube, and black wood ear mushroom through scientific research is a great source of pride and presents a credible, natural option for health care.
A Vision with Compassion
Mr. Wisit Kowarakul, CEO of JW Herbal Co., Ltd., shared the motivation behind the project:
“I was inspired by numerous news reports and stories about people suffering from stroke and vascular diseases. Many were bedridden, paralyzed, or even lost their lives. Witnessing these challenges firsthand pushed me to explore how I could help.”
Realizing that the human body contains up to 100,000 kilometers of blood vessels, he understood that even a single blockage could change a life forever. Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) reveal that the top two causes of death worldwide are:
Coronary artery disease
Stroke
This led him to question the practicality of traditional herbal decoctions—which often require four hours of boiling, come in varying qualities, and pose risks of contamination. From this realization came his determination to transform traditional herbal wisdom into a standardized, high-quality, and internationally recognized product.
What’s more, JW Herbal pledges to donate a portion of V Flow’s sales to help underprivileged and bedridden vascular disease patients, easing their burden and that of their families.
To develop the formulation, Mr. Wisit consulted with Dr. Pracha Kanyaprasit, a neurosurgeon and the first to encounter the herbal formula, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Surat Tanprawate, a brain specialist and experienced researcher.
Backed by Government and Academic Partnership
Eventually, the project secured funding and support from four government agencies through the IRTC program under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The research was carried out in collaboration with Northern Science Park (STeP) and conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University.
Thus, V Flow by JW Herbal was officially born—an evidence-based herbal supplement with scientific credibility.
Origins of the Formula
Dr. Pracha Kanyaprasit, a neurosurgeon, explained:
“The original herbal formula—ginger, jujube, and black wood ear mushroom—was first discovered in 2015. A patient with carotid artery stenosis, who refused surgery, underwent conventional treatment alongside the herbal formula. Six months later, their vascular health had significantly improved.”
Further investigation revealed that the formula came from a relative who had coronary artery disease and was waiting for surgery. After drinking the herbal mixture, follow-up tests showed no need for surgery. These real-world cases sparked interest and eventually led to scientific research to confirm the results.
Scientific Validation
Asst. Prof. Dr. Surath Tanpravech, from the Department of Internal Medicine at Chiang Mai University and head of the research team, stated:
“The research aimed to identify the benefits of these three herbs in treating cerebral artery stenosis.”
Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Contains powerful antioxidants, reduces blood lipids, and delays aging and wrinkles
Black Wood Ear Mushroom (Auricularia auricula-judae): Boosts immunity, lowers blood pressure, promotes blood circulation, and helps purify the blood
Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba): Enhances the immune system, reduces cholesterol, nourishes the brain and nervous system
Research findings confirmed that V Flow is rich in antioxidants, gingerol, and other beneficial compounds. These ingredients have been shown to help reduce arterial stiffness and support the prevention and treatment of vascular diseases, including stroke.
The research team is currently conducting human trials in the second phase, focusing on additional benefits such as lowering blood fat, reducing blood pressure, and decreasing arterial blockages—with the goal of offering a natural, safe alternative to conventional medications.
